Dr. Kwabena Osei, MD, MPHBoard-Certified Pediatrician & Pediatric HospitalistDr. Osei, known to his patients as Dr. K.O, is a board-certified Pediatrician with dual certification in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Osei completed his residency training in General Pediatrics at Michigan State University. Prior to residency, he attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned a Master of Public Health (MPH). He has additional training in Primary Care Psychiatry from University of California, Irvine and TMS therapy from Harvard School of Medicine. He brings over 20 years of experience caring for children across a wide range of pediatric settings, including outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and pediatric hospital medicine, where he has managed both routine and critically ill patients throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County.Dr. Osei is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, Riverside, where he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students during their Inpatient Pediatric Rotation.Dr. Osei has a long-standing professional and personal connection with Dr. Tackie. They attended the same medical school in Ghana and completed their residency training at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Since relocating to the Inland Empire in 2018, Dr. Osei has worked closely with Dr. Tackie in the care of her patients requiring hospitalization at Community Hospital of San Bernardino.Outside of medicine, Dr. Osei enjoys playing golf, running and spending time with his family. We are very excited to welcome Dr. Osei to our team. Dr. Irmgard Tackie, MD FAAPBoard-Certified Pediatrician, FAAPDr. Tackie completed her residency program at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. She served as the Pediatric Chief Resident in her final year. At Hurley, she was awarded the Amithabha Banerjee Award for Leadership in Outstanding Clinical Skills, Professional Behavior and Commitment to Lifelong Learning.After residency she moved to Fontana where she worked for a number years serving the children of the Inland Empire. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee and the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Committee of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. She is affiliated with San Antonio Regional Hospital and has a close working relationship with Children’s Hospital of Orange County.She opened Goldstar Pediatrics to fulfill her dream of offering exceptional family centered comprehensive pediatric care.When she isn’t spending family time with her husband and young son, she enjoys making beaded jewelry, reading crime fiction and cooking. I am passionate about helping children and families breathe easier, feel better, and live healthier lives through compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based care.I earned my medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, completed my Pediatrics residency at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, and went on to complete my Allergy & Immunology fellowship at the University of California, Davis.Before joining Goldstar Pediatrics & Allergy Immunology, I served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at Loma Linda University Health, where I cared for patients, educated future physicians, and contributed to research focused on improving asthma, allergy, and immune system care.My approach is centered on listening, education, and partnership. I believe every child and family deserves to feel heard, supported, and confident in their care plan. Returning as a provider truly feels like coming home, and I am excited to continue caring for the children and families of this wonderful community.My passion is helping children grow, thrive, and feel their best while supporting parents through every stage of their child’s health journey. I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based, and family-centered care while creating a welcoming environment where children feel comfortable and families feel listened to and supported.Building meaningful relationships with my patients and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of being a pediatric provider.
